As many of you are already aware, the IPMS USA 2024 NATS Convention is updating the model registration to an online registration system. This is a significant change from past practices and follows ongoing efforts to leverage technology to streamline practices and processes within IPMS USA. The online registration will streamline the data capture and allow the Contest team to quality control the data prior to judging on Friday evening. We will no longer have to decipher handwritten forms, no more misspelled names. Additionally, we added a QR code on each form to assist with a speedy check in at the model registration tables.
However, the model registration website is undergoing final testing. The NATS Convention Team hopes to release the weblink by mid-June. Once we receive the weblink from the development team, we will disseminate widely across the IPMS USA and the NATS ‘24 FaceBook pages, as well as emails to the general membership and posting to the various IPMS and NATS websites.
After you log into the system, you will complete the required data fields and then you will be prompted to print a hard copy form of each model that you will enter into the contest. The model description field will be limited to 600 characters; so, you will need to be brief and focused with your verbiage. Instructions on how to complete the registration will be provided to assist those who may need it. As a final reminder, you will still register manually for entering your models into the “theme” and “special” awards using the white binders located within the model contest rooms.
You will find these in your registration packet
Unfortunately, we may run out of them for those who had not pre-registered.
Pre-registration will open on the 3rd of February, 2024 and will close on June 15th, 2024. It offers discount as well as allow you quicker access to the convention upon your arrival. Non-members of IPMS may also attend.
Frank Lloyd Wright originally proposed a design for Monona Terrace Community and Convention Center in 1938. His architectural vision for the City of Madison—a curvilinear gathering place linking the shore of Lake Monona to the State Capitol—finally realized in 1997. A vision 59 years in the making.
